Bruno Senna Optimistic Of Strong Singapore

Williams’ second driver Bruno Senna is confident of a good outing for the team this weekend. The Brazilian has shown good signs this season, taking a slow and steady road in his races this year, in contrast to his team-mate Pastor Maldonado, who has been a headline-maker, who has more often than not been a headline-make for the wrong reasons.

Bruno is sure that the car will have good speed at the Marina Bay circuit, with his point-scoring race performance at the similarly high speed-natured Monza track giving credence to his words.

“Singapore should suit our car because it’s a high downforce and load circuit and that’s where the car feels at home the most,” he said.

“Of course it’s hard to judge where we will be as others teams are improving all the time, but if we can score points in Monza then we should be looking to get further into the top ten in Singapore.

“I had a good performance there last year as well so that always gives you a boost before a race.”

Singapore has held F1’s only night race since 2008

Williams are enjoying a season which is much improved over their 2011 campaign. As the teams headed to Singapore in 2011, the English team had just 5 points. At the same stage this year, they have scored 54. Senna has been more careful than his team-mate Maldonado, whose 25 points gained from his Spanish Grand Prix win make over naarly half of the team’s Constructor’s Championship total. If both men can have a race with a car performing as Senna believes, they may well keep enjoying further points.
