Vettel To Leave Red Bull At End Of The Season

In an official statement from Red Bull, it has been confirmed that Sebastian Vettel will leave the team at the end of the season. The announcement comes at a time when it is looking increasingly likely that Fernando Alonso will leave Ferrari. Daniil Kvyat will replace Vettel. moving up from Red Bull’s sister F1 team Toro Rosso to the senior Red Bull team to partner Daniel Ricciardo.

With only hours before qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix, the team released the following brief statement.

“Sebastian Vettel has advised us that he will be leaving Red Bull at the end of the 2014 season.

“We want to warmly thank Sebastian for the incredible role he has played at Red Bull for the last six years.”

It is a move which will start a new chapter in the career of a driver who has 38 wins, 44 pole positions and 64 podiums with the Red Bull team since his first season with the team in 2009.
